Birmingham & Solihull suffered their first defeat of the 2026/27 league campaign on Saturday, falling to a 24–12 loss away at Woodrush RFC. The Bees arrived at Woodrush following three consecutive victories over Lutterworth II, Bournville II and Bromsgrove II, having made an encouraging start to the new season. However, Saturday's encounter brought that winning run to an end, with the hosts securing a 12-point victory. After an impressive opening few weeks, the result provides a reminder of the challenges that lie ahead throughout the league campaign. While the defeat is disappointing, there remains plenty of rugby to be played, and the focus now turns to learning from the performance and preparing for the next opportunity.
