In a very competitive game that certainly entertained the large crowd at Sils the visitors created enough opportunities to win the game but a number of errors allowed the home side to stay in touch and claim the draw.
The early exchanges saw Bees, with the breeze on their backs hold much of the territory and strong runs from wing Tom Cooper and centre Matthew Bentley should have been finished off but a general lack of support saw Sils turn over the ball in the tackle.
In fact it wasn't until the 25th minute that the deadlock was broken when Bees made good progress through a series of forward drives that put centre and skipper for the day Mikey Thomas in the corner for a try. The conversion just fell short.
Within a minute scrum half Cameron Powell dummied and darted over from a ruck. Again Matthew Dight's conversion was missed, this time just wide.
Just before the break Sils got on the score sheet with an unconverted try from a catch and drive at the line out.
The second half saw Bees keep the ball in hand against the breeze and a surging run from flanker George Rees saw him beat numerous tacklers but again lack of support saw the chance lost. Sils also used the wind to their advantage as the visitors put in some heroic defensive work, with big hits from hooker Sam Covill and No 8 Billy Castle. On three occasions on their own 5 metre line, the home side failed to break through.
After 55 minutes Bees at last got some continuity into their play with a series of forward drives from Jamie Watson, Oliver Purser, Jack Lazenby and George Nash that had Sils on the back foot as Powell fed Oliver Russell who put wing Matt Dight into a big gap in the midfield to race under the posts for a try he also converted. The next 5 minutes saw Bees in control, playing some of their best rugby, and a fine three quarter move saw Bentley pick a fine line but the ball was spilled with a try almost certain.
However the home side fought back and with 10 minutes remaining they got a try of their own after their fly half danced through three tackles to score under the posts. Then a penalty 5 metres out saw their prop go over in the corner to tie the game. The conversion was missed.
