A positive start saw pressure put upon Dudley from the outset. Dight missed an early penalty but when the home side knocked on in the line out the resulting scrum saw number 8 Billy Castle pick up and go over. The conversion was missed.
Dudley's response was swift with a forward drive that led to an unconverted try. On 25 minutes fly half Cameron Powell broke from inside his own half and a miss pass to outside centre Matt Bentley saw him straighten and kick through for left winger Matt Dight to win the chase to the line and then also convert his try.
Within 3 minutes Dudley got another try from a close catch and drive from a line out. Dight then added a penalty to lead 15-10 at the break.
At the restart pressure from the home side's straight running centres led to an equalising try. However Dight regained the lead for Bees
with a simple penalty. With 10 minutes remaining Dudley made substitutions and with fresh legs on they scored a converted try out wide.
The visitors response was to attack from deep but mistakes led to a close range drive from the Dudley pack to take the honours 27-18
