A promising start by Bees against a strong Cleobury Mortimer side saw them eventually go down fighting 31 points to 12.
After 8 minutes the home side went ahead against the run of play, having turned over the visitors and going 7-0 up. A second try followed from a catch and drive in the line out for Cleobury to lead 12-0. Bees responded with a line out move from the training ground as captain and number 8 Tom Rees peeled around the front to set up a ruck that saw second row Dan Curnyn go over for his first ever try for Bees!
At the restart and 5-12 down the visitors began in confident mood with the slope to their advantage, however a series of fumbles as they threatened the home side saw Cleobury break and score lead extend their lead to 19-5. They then secured a bonus point with a fourth try from a tap penalty down the blind side.
Bees defensive effort began to frustrate the home side as they looked for a big win. The visitors were rewarded with a try from wing Ross McGee who raced in from half way after good work from scrum half Owen Walker. At 12-26 Bees searched for a third try that would give them a bonus point but it was not to be as Cleobury got the final score from another driving line out.
