With a number of key players missing the colts found Kidderminster too much of a handful, losing heavily 46-6. Four under 17 players stepped up to the mark, making a considerable impact. The visitors dominated the early exchanges, racing into a 19-0 lead after just 15 minutes through 3 tries from their forwards.
Bees, traditional slow starters needed to close down their opponents in the three quarters if they were to have any success. Then with the home side beginning to secure good line out ball from Jacob Lisle and hooker Alex Lowe, finding his range they took the game to Kidderminster with some short drives from Mason Dhani-Ali, Jack Allen and Sean Pollard that crossed the gain line and gave them some confidence. However plenty of committed tackling from the visitors led to turnovers, just when Bees threatened their line. Before the break and slightly against the run of play Kidderminster scored a fourth breakaway try. HT 0-26
Refusing to throw in the towel Bees restarted in fine mood and continued pressure led to two penalties for full back Josh Hunt. With the Bees pack exerting lots of pressure the backs made good ground with centre Ross McGee racing through the defence on two occasions, the second time being tackled into touch just 5 metres short. With a score for Bees looking imminent Kidderminster broke quickly and an blatant forward pass went unnoticed which was a clear turning point in the game as they scored to make it 6-31. Bees then went down to 14 men with an injury to fly half Patrick Lindsay. Kidderminster then began to play like the way they started, exploiting the lack of numbers in the Bees backline to score two more quick tries. Their final try came in the last play.
