Wolves hang on in entertaining game

Both sides provided an entertaining end to end spectacle for the small crowd of parents and coaches. The early exchanges were fairly even with few missed tackles from either side. However after 7 minutes the deadlock was broken with a neat move that put the Wolverhampton right winger in for a converted try. Within minutes Bees secured good ball in the forwards and a series of drives from second row Wasim Alkahlout saw him rewarded with a try in the corner. Josh Hunt was successful with a fine conversion from the touchline.
A series of errors from both sides saw possession change hands frequently and it was the visitors who eventually went over for a second converted try just before the break after a succession of drives through the forwards.
After the restart the home side struck back with a second try from Alkahlout when be forced his way through various tackles and then race in from the Wolves 22 metre line. The conversion was missed. Then a simple neat move from the visitors scrum saw an overlap created for their left winger to score an unconverted try.
Bees refused to give in and moments later a searing break through the centre from Liam Baber saw him go under the posts. Hunt added the extras. At 19 all with 10 minutes to go both sides had victory in their sights and it was Wolverhampton who got the vital score with a three quarter move that gave their backs a simple converted try. Then a concerted effort from the home side saw wing George Mulingani break away in the Wolves half but lacked support and was caught just short. The final minutes saw Bees with a series of tap penalties in the visitors 22 but their defence held firm to take the honours.
