Early pressure from the home side led to two converted penalties. With Bees seeing little ball they defended well and denied Bromsgrove any chance of a try. Heroic defence from new full back Alex Gibson kept his lively opposite number from crossing the line on two occasions. As the half drew to a close the visitors enjoyed their best spell with number 8 Billy Castle held just short with Bromsgrove glad to hear the half time whistle.
The home side increased their lead with a quick try at the restart. However Bees began to secure some possession and centre Matthew Dight crossed in the corner for an unconverted try. He added to their total with a long range penalty shortly afterwards. With Bees centres Ben Phillips and Dan Millichap beginning to dominate the midfield further pressure saw second row Jack Allen crash over to tie the game at 13 all. With the home side now tiring the visitors ran in two further tries, both from Dight, who completed his hat trick. He also converted both.
