Battling performance not enough

The colts again failed to take their chances at Moseley in a score line that flattered the home side. Bees started in confident mood and after 5 minutes they realised this was a game they could win against a strong Moseley Academy team. Good progress through the forwards led to a penalty 5 metres out. A quick tap taken by scrum half Josh Jones found flanker Jake Ngatchu, who crashed over. The conversion was missed. Further pressure led to a number of scoring opportunities but handling errors gave the impetus back to Moseley who scored a try of their own when their number 8 scored from close range. Just before the break the home side took the lead when their backs exploited an overlap down the right for their winger to score to lead 10-5
At the restart Bees pressed hard through their high tempo forward game, picking and driving through the middle, committing the Moseley defence. Second row Reece Parkinson made a clean break, raced 30 metres clear, drew the fullback and fed captain Tom Rees who was going under the posts but slipped over on the poor surface and the chance was missed. Further opportunities were created but poor handling skills and wayward passes allowed the home side to weather the storm and score again after another Bees error had led to a turnover and a simple overlap gave their winger a simple run in for 15-5. With 10 minutes remaining the visitors refused to give up and spent the next five minutes in the Moseley 22 but just couldn't break through. With a lot of weary legs and no replacements Bees lost possession as Moseley ventured into the opponents half and scored their 4th try that was also converted. They then followed this with a penalty in the dying moments.
