With just 15 players, the mixture of u17's and u18's struggled to get their act together in the opening exchanges and it was Stafford who got off to a good start with an un converted try from a close drive. Bees were still on the M6 for most of the half and gifted a second try to the home team when they dived on a loose ball after mistakes in the line out 5 metres out.
Trailing just 12-0 at the break the visitors began to find some form in the second half and dominated possession but determined tackling from Stafford kept Bees out. Numerous moves through the backs saw half a dozen chances go begging as George Rees, Matt Dight and Liam Baber all went close but lacked the finishing touch. As the half wore on an interception saw Stafford in the Bees half and from a resulting scrum their fly half dummied and went over on the final whistle.
