Trailing 18-10 with 30 minutes to go Bees turned on the style and ran in 5 tries for a flattering scoreline against a determined Sils outfit.. Bees started brightly with a Matt Dight penalty and a well worked try for right wing Patrick Lindsay after some fine work from centre Liam Baber. Dight converted. Bees front row of Wardell, Covill and Nash certainly had the upper hand in the scrums and the luxury of being able to change all three personnel for Mason, Allen and Maye after 20 minutes kept things fresh.
The Sils response was two penalties and then just before the break their fly half dummied and went untouched under the posts for a converted try.
The start of the second half saw the visitors lead extended to 18-10 with an unconverted try. The home side then seemed to get their act together and up the tempo and take the game to their opponents with second row Billy Castle making some surging runs that provided plentiful possession for the Bees backs as they exerted lots of pressure on their opponents. However it was a loose pass from the Sils centre that saw winger Dight pick up and race clear to the corner for an unconverted try. Shortly afterwards full back Matthew Bentley took a quick tap penalty and forced his way over for a try converted by Dight. Bentley was then on hand to kick through for Dight to collect and go over.
With a squad of 21 players available regular substitutions kept Bees on the front foot in terms of fitness, which was now beginning to tell as Dight completed his hat rick with a break from half way that led to a try under the posts that he converted. In the dying moments flanker George Rees raced clear for a well deserved try, converted by Bentley.
