A total of 12 Bees players were missing for the final game of 2016 as Bees travelled to play Kenilworth for the first time. It was clear that last week's adrenaline fuelled victory had left some a little jaded and energy levels looked low. However Cole the new boy at 10 found Noah after 10 minutes , he picked a good line to go under the posts and converted. Ten minutes later loose handling from Kenilworth was pounced on by Noah and he finished under the posts to allow 7 more to be added. 14-0.
The remainder of the half was punctuated with numerous penalties for both sides, a poorly functioning Bees line -out, even the scrum struggled and as a consequence Bees failed to achieve a rhythm and it was Kenilworth who dominated possession and territory without actually threatening to score. The only moment of quality from Bees in an underwhelming last 15 of the first period was an excellent snipe by Ben Freeman, allowing Noah to add the extras to give a somewhat flattering half time score of 21-0.
The lacklustre display continued with Bees losing the ball in contact , being counter-rucked and repeatedly penalised as they were pinned in their own 22 for long periods. On the positive side when under this pressure the defence held strong and denied Kenilworth a richly deserved score with try saving work on 2 or 3 occasions.
Bees rubbed salt into the wounds when a well executed backs play on half way allowed Noah to break the line and take on the full back showing some nifty footballing skills to score out wide. 26-0. No more scores , just another yellow for Heeksy and Josh throwing his toys out of the pram.
