REDDITCH RFC V B&S RFC

REDDITCH RFC V B&S RFC

Jeremy Smith1 Apr 2022 - 12:03

Portway Bar open after the game. (Plus Sunday rugby and Rugby League at Portway too)

This Saturday, 2 April, our senior squad is travelling to near neighbours Redditch RFC. (Address Redditch Cricket Hockey and Rugby Football Club, Bromsgrove Road, Redditch, B97 4SP.) Kick off is at 1500.

Redditch lie sixth in the league , on 49 points, having won 9 out of 19 games. Their results may be found here .

Talking of the league, and at the risk of putting a curse on the squad, as a result of Stourport beating Cannock last weekend we are now 13 points ahead of second placed Cannock with three games to go. Thus, the Bees only need 3 points from three games to ensure a top spot finish. Were we to win at Redditch the goal will have been accomplished.

For anyone still feeling thirsty on the way back up the A435 after enjoying Redditch's hospitalility the bar at Portway will be open after the game. If you twist Tim's arm there might be some special pricing too!

Also on Sunday there is a veritable feast of rugby at Portway. Our Under 14s & 15s are playing Broadstreet, kick off is at 1100. This is an excellent opportunity to see & cheer on our developing future-players.

In addition Midlands Hurricanes rugby league are making their home league debut against Swinton Lions, preceded by a ‘masters’ (veterans) match. Kick off is at 1500. Admission prices may be found here .

The team selected by Head Coach Clive Chapman for Saturday’s game is:

1. Mason Dhani-Ali
2. Joe Davies
3. Liam Dunne
4. Pete Gordon
5. Ethan Phillips
6. Jack Allen
7. Tom Rees

14. Tom Cain
15. James Shackleton
16. Ryan Sleaford
