We were saddened to hear of the death of Dai Scard a former Birmingham RFC player. Dai captained the club in the late 1960s and went on to senior positions in county rugby with posts in the Greater Birmingham and North Midlands Rugby Football Unions including positions in coaching, team selection, discipline, and the presidency of North Midlands.

Away from rugby Dai was a highly respected Headmaster of Lighthall School in Shirley and took a great deal of interest in his local community.

His funeral will be held at St.Peter’s Church Hall Green at 1.00pm on Monday 22nd June, followed by cremation. At Robin Hood Crematorium.
