Bees win the North Mids Cup for the 4th year running

Probably blowing a gale at Portway but over at Bromsgrove it was pretty hot. Broke a sweat writing the report so not envious of the lads on the pitch.
So onto the Bees v Bridgnorth final.
Bridgnorth start with Bees initially returning to the 10m before knocking on. Bridgnorth’s scrum holds and from the early exchanges Bridgnorth go for posts following a Bees offside outside the 22. 0-3 (3 minutes in)
Bees restart and Bridgnorth go through a few phases before Bees penalised for a high tackle. Bridgnorth run initially before kicking. Bees return well before play halted following a Bridgnorth knock on. Scrum ball secured and Bees run with Bridgnorth going offside. Bees kick to the corner. Bees lineout functions well and a maul is set up and makes initial progress before Lewis H takes the ball from the back and bounces through to go over. Noah converts (possibly the most difficult one of the game) for 7-3 on 9 minutes.
Bridgnorth restart and Cory makes an initial charge and Bees recycle putting the ball into midfield. Always important to get a sense of who the oppositions best players are and a beautiful breadbasket pass (identity known but not recorded here - should have heard what sanction your mum recommended) to the Bridgnorth centre sees him go the length. 7-8 11 minutes in.
Possibly the most controlled phase play followed with Bees securing ball from their restart, recycle, break up to the 22, recycle and then go wide, recycle again and Lewis H bounces over again. 12-8 14 minutes in.
Bridgnorth restart goes out on the full and from the scrum Noah spots a gap and goes through jinking his way to the line. 17-8 16 minutes in.
Bridgnorth restart out on the full with Bees attacking wide and up to the 22 before the ball finds touch. Bees steal the Bridgnorth ball at the lineout and Lewis H goes through again. (I think its still £50 for a hattrick Chris). 22-8 on 20 minutes.
Bees secure ball from the restart and box kick. Bridgnorth return recycling initially but in the next attack an incomplete pass is picked up by a baguette free Dec to take the space and run through to score, nice and central. Noah converts for 29-8 on 23 minutes.
Bridgnorth bruised but still competing hard. Longest phase of the game followed with play moving quickly between the 22s. Errors reduced and forwards with a lot of work to do. Bees possible edged the territory and it was a planned move from a scrum 5-10 metres out working well again for Noah to dart through for 34-8 on 34 minutes closing out the first half scoring.
Full credit Bridgnorth who came out the blocks firing in the second half. A bit of possession and control seeing them up and into Bees 22. Initial surges halted but from an attack from around the halfway it was Bridgnorth attacking wide and winning the kick chase down the wing. Converted for 34-15 on 40 minutes.
Report detail flagging now - it was bloody hot. So edited highlights. Great quick hands out wide and great supporting lines sees Will R go over first following a typical rubber man run fro PJ. Andy next over with a lung busting 2m charge. A clearance kick gratefully received by Josh on the 22 to bounce 1 and then go over. Nice run on the loop for Noah, gap created and through (£50?). And finally a proper lung busting run from Nathan down the wing down the wing to take the score to 63-15 (home scorer not keeping up!).
Bridgnorth still battling hard and further reward earned with a strong attack from the 10m, out wide and in. 63-20 on 65 minutes.
Everyone probably grateful (except for the front rows) for the breather a procession of scrums and resets in the final stages gave most on the pitch because this game was played at pace.
So 11 tries and seven different scorers for Bees, not a bad way to take a 4th consecutive NM Cup final.
Well done everyone.
Ken - when does pre-season start?
