Bees off to a good start

Great setting for Bees first match up with Cleve. A bit of wind but good playing conditions.
Cleve start proceedings with Bees recycling from the first ruck before knocking on in midfield. Cleve secure possession from their scrum and chip into Bees 22. Bees can only hack into touch. Cleve secure possession at the line out and quickly set up a driving maul that trundles up to and over the Bees line. 5-0 2 minutes in - game on.
Bees manage to gather from their restart but are taken into touch. Cleve secure ball from their lineout recycle in midfield before chipping Bees defence. Bees secure ball and kick, close action near halfway ends with a Bees knock on. Bees take the ball against the head and Bees kick deep into the Cleve 22. Cleve kick to clear and Noah runs the return. Cleve knock on at the ensuing ruck for a 5m scrum. After a reset Lewis B picks up at 8 getting close, Cleve offend at the next ruck but advantage played and further charges halted before Bees send the ball quickly out wide for Tom O to go over in the corner. 5-5 8 minutes in.
Cleve restart and Bees get possession but are taken to touch. Cleve's lineout functioning well and the ball goes into midfield. A couple of rucks later Bees secure turnover ball in midfield, out to Noah who jinks through the defence and sprints over. Noah then converts his score for 5-12 11 minutes in.
Bees seemed to have sorted out their game now and forwards exerting real pressure. Bees keep the game in Cleve's half with most ground from Cleve from a well functioning kicking and line out game. Some good midfield exchanges finally ending with Bees offending at the ruck, not retreating 10 giving Cleve easy yards in Bees 22. After the next ruck Cleve again chip the Bees defence but Bees gather and return the ball back into the Cleve 22. Bees come up with the ball sent quickly out wide for Tom O to go on another glide down the wing round the Cleve defence and over. Noah converts for 5-19 on 19 minutes.
Cleve gather from their restart recycle a few times before they have a charge down the wing to bring the score back to 10-19 21 minutes in.
Bees gather from the restart forwards recycling well and progressing up to the 22 before Cleve offend centre field on their 22. Bees scrum had been very strong and the decision to take a scrum turned out to be the right one with steady ball sent out to Noah to go through to score and then convert. 10-26.
Bees were now starting to exert some real control on possession and territory with Noah claiming his third and Andy going over on the stroke of half-time. Both converted. 10-40.
Bees restart goes out on the full (I'll blame that on the wind) and Bees take possession from the reset scrum on halfway. An unseen hand from Bees stopping the ball going straight through the tunnel. Neil Back would have been proud of that one. Ball out wide quickly to Josh to outstrip the defence and go round and under 37 minutes in. Noah converts for 10-47.
Good competition and some close quarter action and turnovers exchanged. Cleve still competing hard but Bees defence holding. Next notable action came from a Bees scrum on halfway. Ball shoots back passed the scrum half. Tom J picks up and through traffic all going too high sees would be tackles falling off. I think I counted 5 before Tom J eventually being brought down just short but an outstretched arm gets the ball to the line for a score on 44 minutes. Noah converts for 10-54.
Dec goes over in the corner a couple of minutes later with Josh going over twice (both converted) before the end for 10-73.
I'd missed the final action but as Noah pointed it out to me so it would be wrong not to include it in the report, but the last play was Noah dropping the ball to the ground. Don't believe any attempted claims of well I knew time was up. No doubt he just wanted to get into the showers with Cole.
