Bees win, but Gloucester lose disgracefully.

Bright and a light breeze for Bees visit to Newport. A first time match up for the teams.
Bees get off to a lightening start earning turnover ball from the kick off getting the ball out wide to Josh. A few hand offs later he goes in at the corner. 1m in for 0-5.
Newport restart and Bees get the ball out into midfield, play halted for a curious knock on. Newport take possession from their scrum but are turned over near Bees 22. Bees knock on at the lineout and with advantage played Newport earn a penalty in midfield, clearing to halfway. Initial possession secured by Newport from the lineout with Bees then earning turnover ball in midfield. Bees send the ball out wide, recycle a couple of times before sending the ball out to the other wing before being taken to touch. Newport knock on at the lineout and Bees secure possession from their scrum. 8 pick up and yards made. Bees recycle a couple of times attacking down the left and then right. Good ground made before a scrambling Newport defence knocks on in the corner. From a strong Bees scrum Lewis B picks up at 8 and goes in for a score converted by James on 9m for 0-12.
From the restart healthy competition sees Bees make headway before Newport earn turnover ball and kick for territory. Bees return and a high tackle near halfway allows Bees to kick high for Bees to pressurise the Newport defence, re securing the ball before sending the ball out into midfield where Josh sets up Will R to go in for a score. 13m in and 0-17
Newport restart and Bees run the return and start to get their offloading going before Newport earn turnover before being held up at the next contact. Bees scrum but the ball pops straight out and Newport quickly kick clear. Bees run the return back up to the 22 before earning a penalty at the breakdown. Bees run and are halted but Newport aren't 10 and this time Bees kick for the corner. A clean take at the lineout lets Bees set up a driving maul and from the back Lewis B drops down to score. Converted by James for 0-24 on 17 minutes.
Newport restart and earn turnover making initial yards up to Bees 22. Recycle and further strong play takes them up to the Bees line. Lots of bodies on the line and the ref peels away a few of these before awarding Newport their first score. Converted on 19 minutes for 7-24.
Bees restart and play moves between the respective 22's, Newport buoyed up following their score. Bees don't release in the tackle and the resulting penalty sees Newport up to Bees 22. Bees steal possession at the lineout and recycle in midfield before the ball goes out wide to Josh who out paces the Newport defence into the corner but cutting back across to score under the posts. James converts on 25m for 7-31.
Bees collect and run the restart back. Some good forward control sees Bees steadily progress back upfield before a Newport knock on gives Bees a Bees scrum. 8 pick up again and recycle out to midfield before recycling again this time getting the ball out wide. Strong running again takes Josh up to the 22 but into touch. Bees secure possession from the lineout and out into midfield . From the restart some good close quarter action sees a series of knock ons and scrums. Bees are exerting pressure but with a good hook you can't do much to pressure the ball. The fourth scrum since the last score is won against the head by Bees. * pick up and quick hands out to Noah sees him chip over the defence and first to the ball to score. 39m 14-48.

From the restart heavy traffic in midfield eventually sees the ball going out wide past the Newark 10m line but an incomplete pass goes to touch. A not straight at the lineout sees a Bees scrum from which clean ball is used for a loop between 10 & 12 possibly confusing the defence by its slowness before Noah opts for a more direct line break before rounding the full back. Noah converts his own score for 14-69 48 minutes in.
The days scoring completed with a break from Ivor near the halfway line. Converted by James for 14-76.
End of report shortened as I'm in mourning!
Hats off to Newport, heads didn't drop at any point but Bees were firing today.
Some strong individual performances but a cohesive team display for Bees despite lots of changes being made. Personal highlights were a well executed driving maul to score from the lineout in the first half and the speed of territory earned through off loads, quick hands and quick recycling that saw Bees more or less go the length for Dec's score in the second.
The results so far for the year read like terrible stammer and with the business end of the season approaching lets see if they can keep it going (unlike Glos!).
