Bees unintimidated by the almighty Claverdon got off to a scrappy start. Both teams hindered by the strong wind played on and It was Claverdon who scored the first try.
Claverdon soon got into the swing of things and began to demonstrate their strength and well disciplined play with great passing and catching down the lines. Despite this the away team endured several early team injuries as Bees battled on and Ollie scored his first try.1-1
Claverdon undeterred soon scored their second 2-1
Bees fought back and Ollie evened up play 2-2 and spirits briefly lifted to believe 'we could do this!'
Just before the half time whistle Claverdon scored again 3-2.
Half Time
Damian on his own and refereeing both game halves left the team short of instruction and the game began to slip through their fingers, literally. A tired, cold team lost their fight and team structure to Claverdons advantage who came back to score another try. 4-2
And another ... 5-2
And another ...6-2
And another ...7-2
A sudden surge of energy and the Bees found some momentum and pulled together to facilitate Ewan, (I think), scoring his first try. 7-3
Despite the Bees efforts Claverdon had the fInal say with a further try before the final whistle. 8-3
Game Over!
Losing to a very strong Claverdon team quick to the loose ball and powerful in the rucks turning over the ball every time bees went to ground, not our day but positive's taken into our learning curve.
Well done all!
