I've now found someone with bigger thighs than Lewis H!

Early Christmas Present from Young Bees

Breezy but dry for Bees opener in the National Colts Cup.
Bees start the brightest edging the early territory battle progressing up into Old Covs 22 and going close before Old Covs go offside. Scrum taken and pick up at 8 sees Lewis B go past the line but knocking on. old Covs scrum ball gets hooked back out of the channel (& not reset) with quick Bees hands getting the ball out to Tom J to go over. Noah converts for 0-7 on 6 minutes.
Fortunes reversed in the next phases with Old Covs progressing up to Bees 22 where Bees offend centrefield allowing a straightforward 3 point return. 3-7 on 13 minutes.
From the restart Bees start to excert some control and this time its Bees with a central penalty near the 22. Noah kicks to retain the 7 point advantage. 3-10
Bees keep up the pressure containing Old Covs to their half and from an Old Covs overthrown line out Bees react the quickest sending the ball out wide making progress before play brought back for a high tackle on the 22. Bees run and ambition rewarded with Noah going over in the corner. 3-15 on 21 minutes.
Spurred on by the score Old Covs seemed to pick up the pace a bit and the contest was warming up nicely. Bees struggled to make territory and Old Covs made slow but steady progress up and into Bees 22. Concerted pressure well defended until the inevitable offside sees Old Covs opt for a scrum. From a reset scrum the ball is out quickly to midfield and Old Covs go over. Converted to narrow the gap to 10-15 on 31 minutes.
Old Covs make early ground from the restart but obstruction ends the progress. Bees clear long and earn turnover from the run return and quickly convert this into a further score by Noah, to close out the first half with a 10-20 scoreline.
Bees compound the pressure with an early 2nd half score from a penalty on Old Covs 22 run and sent out wide for Tom O to score in the corner for 10-25 on 37 minutes.
Again this acted as a spur for Old Covs with the starting to control some territory and the ball for periods. Making steady progress deep into Bees 22. Stoic defence keeping Old Covs at bay but the increasing penalty count eventually seeing Old Covs go over from close range and Lewis B the recipient of a team yellow with the refs patience exhausted for persistent offences in the red zone. Old Covs convert for 17-25.
Bees reply almost immediately earning turnover in Old Covs 22, then running from an Old Covs offside. Up close to Old Covs line and some one out driving culminating in a quick dive over from Aggy. Converted on 18 minutes for 17-32.
Old Covs were still in this and the longest spell of play between the respective 22s followed. But from this some quick running from Bees out wide and a great offload fro PJ to the new winger Cole an easy 2 yards to the corner. Converted for 17-39 on 31 minutes.
From the restart Lewis B goes on a charge and quick ball out wide and a great offload ground sees Kamil go over for probably the slickest score of the game for 17-44 on 68 minutes.
A bit more contest followed but no scoring. Bees got their noses in front early and retained and gradually increased to gap to a final and impressive score over a good Old Covs unit.
Not a lot to say about the second half at the Ricoh beyond Glos giving out present after present the first turning the ball over from a lineout deep in Wasps 22 and them going the length. I'm still scarred by some of the other gifts!
