Match Preview Towcestrians v Bees Saturday 17th September 2016

BEES HOPING TO BE FIRST AMONGST EQUALS AT TOWCESTRIANS

Bees make personnel and positional changes for their visit to Towcestrians this Saturday, 17th September (KO 3pm).

The Bees play a newly promoted side for the second week running as they travel to Towcestrians this Saturday, hot on the heels of their 22-10 victory at home to Bedford Athletic last weekend.

Their win against Bedford came at a cost however, with knocks picked up by Matt Spink (ankle) and Tawanda Chipadza (concussion) – the latter adding to the current backs injury list which already includes Steve Johns and Jack Jolly.

The Bees make the journey down to Northamptonshire with six league points to their name, following a draw and a win from their two opening NLM3 ties. Their hosts come into the game with equal stats, having won their season opener 19-14 against Bedford Athletic and drawing 3-3 with Nuneaton last Saturday.

With the low scoring draw against Nuneaton switched to their Greens Norton Road ground at the Nuns request, this will be the third home tie on the bounce for ‘Tows’.

Bees’ Head of Rugby Pete Glackin and First Team coach Ben Woods have had to make some adjustments to both the pack and the backline for the trip south.

With hooker Zane Raimondi having to return to South Africa for family reason, Louis Addleton gets a call up from the Hornets, where he will join Dan Toth and Joe Foreman in the front row.

Danny Wright moves into the engine room with Chris Goddard, with Ashley Scriven switching to 6 and Tom Price starting at openside flanker in tandem with Matt Tibbatts at No.8.

In the backs, after an assured performance off the bench last week, Max Rodman starts at fly half, partnering Charlie Mumford at 9. Jimmy Oliver returns from injury at inside centre, with Mikey Whettell switching to the outside centre berth. George Adams and Dan Barratt provide the gas on the wings, with Mitch McGahan – recovered from a knock last week - at full back.

On the bench, Kurtis Payne and Chris Fensome are joined by Michael Stephens, who has had two starts for the Hornets so far this season.

Meanwhile the Hornets – unbeaten on the road in their first two outings of the season – entertain Towcestrian 2nds at Portway.
