BEES IN B&I CUP ACTION AGAINST ROTHERHAM TITANS THIS SUNDAY
Birmingham & Solihull entertain Rotherham Titans at Damson Park this Sunday (27th February, KO 3pm) in their final B&I Cup Pool match.
With Pontypridd already qualified from Pool D and the runners-up spot hinging on the outcome of the game between Ayr and Doncaster, neither side can progress to the knockout stages of the competition this season. However, Sunday’s game will be an important part of the Bees’ Relegation Playoff preparations, according to Bees’ Director of Rugby Russell Earnshaw.
"After last weekend's performance against Worcester, we need to continue that fine home form this weekend. For several players returning from injury or earning a start, this is a great opportunity to lay down a marker ahead of the play offs. Both myself and Eugene need selection to be difficult."
Accordingly, Earnshaw has made wholesale changes from the team that started against Worcester, with Dan Sanderson the only common thread in the forwards. Jimmy Williams comes in to partner Mark Woodrow in the half backs, whilst there are starts for Ben Barkley and Will Lawson at centre. Ian Davey will line up at full back, with Mitch Culpin and Simon Hunt on their respective wings.
The Bees team to face Rotherham Titans is: 1.Mauro Sperandio, 2.George Thomas, 3.Ngalu Tau, 4.Semisi Taulava, 5.Dan Sanderson, 6.Adam Clayton, 7.Jack Bentall, 8.Mark Hopley, 9.Jimmy Williams, 10.Mark Woodrow, 11.Mitch Culpin, 12.Ben Barkley, 13.Will Lawson, 14.Simon Hunt, 15.Ian Davey.
Replacements: TBC
Entry to the game will be £5 only for Adults, with concessions and children admitted free.
