UNDER 10S WIN Moseley Festival
Birmingham & Solihull Bees U10s finished the season in style by winning the Moseley Festival.
Sporting their t our shirts and with the sun shining at Billesley Common the U10s were determined to retain the title from last year.
First up were Hereford, who had some big lads, who just wanted to run straight at us, but the lads took it all in there stride and stopped them in their tracks. turning over lots of ball which gave the backs plenty of opportunity to attack, Noah and Ben scoring 1 each. A few problems with the grounding of the ball meant 3 more tries were not allowed but by this time Hereford were struggling and the Bees forwards were winning all the line-outs and scrums. Another scrum against the head saw Cole pick up and go to score a try, and more powerful running from Ivor on the wing saw him cross the line for 1. Bees let the concentration slip which meant the final score of the game game from Hereford to make the final score 4-1.
Bournville were next and with the forwards winning plenty of ball in all departments the backs ran wild and excelled, Noah 2, Nathan 2, Ben 1, Ivor 1. 6-0 to the Bees.
Final group game was against Moseley Bulls, great all round play from everyone. Prop Andrew was unstoppable in the loose and went over for 2 tries. Great vision and passing from scrum half Cole enabled winger Will to score. Brilliant ball retention from forwards and backs alike saw Noah and Ivor both score 1 each. Final score Bees 5-0.
This put the Bees in to the final against Moseley Griffins, who like the Bulls before them, came at the Bees head on. Excellent tackling from the forwards and superb organization skills from the backs meant there was no way through for Moseley and the Bees started to take control in all areas. Andrew, Noah and Nathan all scoring 1 each and captain Ben Freeman scoring 2 tries making the final score 5-0 to the Bees.
A great win and exceptional play from all 12 squad members. opposition coaches and referees alike all commented on how well the boys played
