Bees planning to come away from the West Country with the spoils against a powerful and streetwise Taunton Titans side

After their excellent victory against Dings Crusaders last time out, Bees will need to be at their very best, against a powerful Taunton Titans side, if they are to come away from the West Country with the spoils. Taunton have won their last 5 games and sit in 4th place on 64 points, having won 12 and lost 5 of their opening 17 fixtures. Their last defeat came on 24 November, when they lost heavily (46-17) at Tonbridge Juddians. The men from Somerset are two points behind second placed Canterbury, and are the league's highest scorers with 630 points. The Titans points difference is 200, only the mighty Rams (346) bettering this figure. Taunton have accrued 16 bonus points, the best in the league at present. Last weekend they won 48-42 at Clifton.

Earlier in the season, Taunton Titans beat Bees narrowly (28-20) at Portway.

Taunton RFC was founded in 1875. Their current Hyde Park ground, now named The Commsplus Stadium, is adjacent to the M5 Motorway. In 2009/10, Taunton won National League 3 South West. 2018/19, marks their 9th successive season in Nat 2 South, finishing fourth in each of the last two seasons, accruing over 100 league points on each occasion.

With regard to team news, there are no changes to Bees starting XV this weekend. However, Pete Glackin has the luxury of naming a very strong bench, which comprises of Probert, Raimondi, Scriven, Brown and Tilsley.

Meanwhile, following their 41-0 defeat at Nuneaton Saxons, the Hornets will be hoping to do better when they face Hinckley 2 RFC in the Midlands Reserve League.
