Day 5 on the edge of bandit country, as the LEJOG4THEBOG team continue to make good progress

Today (Sunday 25th July) sees our dynamic riders just inside the border of the Principality, having successfully put another 81 miles on the clock yesterday (Saturday).

Having watched, at Yatton Rugby Club, the Lions go down 30-15 in the First Test against the All Blacks, the famous five got back on their charges and put in another serious shift in the saddle.

Crossing the Severn Bridge, and stopping for a refreshing pint of cider outside Hereford Cathedral, the day’s cycling was eventually completed when team LEJOG reached Kimbolton, just north of Leominster.

Today’s route sees our Cess Pit Champions skirt the border heading up to Wrexham, then keeping west of Chester and heading onto the Wirral Peninsula, finishing off at Neston. With just 2,647 feet of altitude along today’s stretch, it is somewhat less hilly than yesterday’s 4,994 feet.

When today’s cycling is completed, the boys will have done 388 of the 1,030 miles – that’s over a third of the total mileage in the LEJOG4THEBOG challenge.

Worth a few quid donation in anyone’s book, so if you haven’t yet made a donation please do so at https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/LEJOG4THEBOG
