Call for volunteers

Birmingham & Solihull Rugby Club is delighted to confirm that it will be hosting the regional final of the RFU “24 Sevens” tournament at Portway on Saturday 7th July.

The day will see Mens, Womens and Social Sevens sides from around the region competing in a full day programme on four pitches that will begin at 9.30am and conclude at approximately 7pm.

By hosting the event, the club is looking to create a fantastic day of rugby in a festival atmosphere. There will be outdoor food and beverage facilities to service both the players’ village and the many spectators who we hope will come along to Portway for this event. Entry for spectators will be free of charge.

The club will need a significant number of volunteers fulfilling a variety of roles – marshalling, pitchside, helping out with the outdoor catering etc - during the day to make the event a success. We will require a limited number of helpers on the set up (Friday 6th) and knock down days (morning of Sunday 7th), as well as the main cohort on the event day itself (Saturday 7th July, 8am to 9pm).

For any supporter that can spare any time across any of those three days, your services will be greatly appreciated. We will be arranging the volunteer roster in such a way to ensure that it won’t be all work and no play!

Jo Dolan is co-ordinating the staffing for the event so if you can spare some time to volunteer please email her (jo_mdolan@hotmail.com ) setting out your availability.

COYBs!
