Back to business as Bees travel to Nuneaton to take on league leaders

After last week’s layoff, table-topping Nuneaton are tomorrow’s next challenge for the Bees (Saturday 4th March, KO 2.00pm).

The North Warwickshire side have racked up 74 points season to date, thanks to 15 wins, one draw and 12 bonus points. They are currently 10 points above fourth-placed Bees, who have notched up just 6 bonus points over 20 games.

Nuneaton have been beaten just four times in their current league campaign – all of them away at home; Sheffield (56-28), Peterborough Lions (20-13) and, curiously, against bottom of the table Syston (26-19). The fourth defeat was inflicted by the Bees, who edged a tight encounter at Portway on 5th November, with Jack Jolly scoring all the points in the 16-12 win.

Coaching duo Pete Glackin and Ben Woods have made just three changes to the starting fifteen that comfortably defeated Longton 30-10 a fortnight ago.

With the pack unchanged, Isaac McNulty returns as inside centre, where he will be partnered by Jevon Hinds who moves along the line in place of Jimmy Oliver. Chris Fensome comes in on the left wing.

Matt Tibbatts makes a welcome return to the bench, where he joins Charlie Mumford and Joe Foreman.

With just six rounds to go in the 2016/17 National 3 Midlands campaign, there are five sides still effectively in the promotion race. Second place Broadstreet are away at Lichfield this weekend, with third slot Sheffield also on the road at Sandbach. Peterborough Lions, whose recent good form has taken them up to fifth spot, have a home tie against Syston.
