LEJOG team cross the River Mersey today, as they close in on half way point

It’s day 6 today (Monday 26th June) on the LEJOG4THEBOG challenge and our five riders face their longest day in the saddle on the whole trip – 114 miles to be precise.

Yesterday was another day of steady progress, with rider Phil Millichap completing the full 95 mile leg despite being less than 100% fit.

After a hearty breakfast and the application of “anti-chaffing lubricant”, the LEJOG team will be setting off from their overnight base in Neston on the Wirral, crossing the River Mersey by boat, then making their way up along the Lancashire coast to High Wray campsite near Lake Windermere.

The boys will no doubt be spurred on in the saddle today by two thoughts – firstly they have a rest day tomorrow. Secondly, when they finish this evening, they will be effectively half way through the challenge, with 502 of the 1,030 miles in the bag.

Safe riding today chaps/ COYBs!
