A note from Mike Norman

It was with great shock and sadness that we learned of the sudden death of Keith Hipwell.

Keith - a teacher and athletic coach in Birmingham for over 30 years - turned up at Sharmans' Cross Road in early 2000’s and became a fervent supporter of the Bees. He was soon persuaded to become a volunteer steward on match days and became a valued member of the Dirt Tracker team.

Keith and his wife Christine had both battled and beaten cancer, but in recent years Keith sadly had to give up both watching the Bees and attending dirt tracking to become a carer for his beloved wife.

Very recently Keith had a couple of falls and as a result of the investigations was diagnosed with a brain tumour which subsequently caused his sudden death.

We offer our sincerest condolences to Keith’s wife Christine and their daughter and son.

Keith’s funeral will be held at the Robin Hood Cemetery and Crematorium on Thursday 23rd. February at 2.00pm and the family invite friends to join them afterwards at the West Warwicks Club in Grange Road.
