Bees’ Head of Rugby shows important commitment, as the Club continues to plan and build for the future

Birmingham & Solihull Rugby Club is pleased to announce that its Head of Rugby, Pete Glackin, has today (Friday 10th February) signed a contract extension which will secure his services through to the end of the 2018/19 season.

Glackin, who joined the club at the beginning of April 2016, has overseen some very real progress both on and off the pitch this season, not least with the Bees currently sat in fourth place in National League 3 Midlands and having lost just four of his first 18 league games under his tenure.

His contract extension means that he has committed to the club for the next two full seasons – 2017/18 and 2018/19 – a move which will be welcomed in every quarter of the club.

“Glacks has made a massive impact in the relatively short time he has been with us” said Bees’ Chairman of Rugby Dai Phillips. “As an ex-Bees’ player himself, he already had a real affinity with the club. However, he has gone about his work this season with commendable energy, passion, skill and sound judgement that has not only delivered results on the pitch, but has also won the hearts and minds of players, backroom staff, club officials and supporters alike.”

“Securing Pete’s services for at least another two full seasons means that we can build on the momentum already generated this season, as well as starting to plan in earnest for next season and beyond.”

Commenting on the announcement, Pete Glackin said, “I am pleased to commit to such a great club for the next two years. This season to date has been a huge transition on and off the field and the support from everyone has been fantastic. The players have brought into what we are striving to achieve and have demonstrated great potential within the squad. It's certainly a step by step process and we are enjoying the journey.”
