Bees host neighbours Camp Hill in North Midlands Cup Quarter Final tie

Camp Hill make the short journey from Shirley to Portway this Friday (6th October, KO 7.45pm) to face the Bees in the Quarter Final of the North Midlands Cup.

There will be a real local derby feel to the cup tie, with the Camp Hill squad featuring a number of ex Bees, including skipper Mitch Lee and utility back Ian Briggs.

Plying their trade in Midlands West 1 Division, the Haslucks Green Road side have had a difficult start to their league campaign, winning just one of their first five games. The Bees, in contrast, are unbeaten in five outings, scoring 32 tries in the process.

League status and form can often go out of the window in cup games, as the Bees will remember only too well from their semi-final defeat at the hands of Bournville last season.

However, Pete Glackin’s men will be keen to get their hands back on a cup that they won at the end of the 2015/16 season, when they got the better of Newport Salop in an exciting finals day at Dudley K.

Entrance to Friday night’s gameat Portway is free, with the bar open from 6.00pm onwards.

The Bees squad for Friday’s game will be named later on in the week.
