Bees visit National League 2 side Stourbridge for ‘Friday Night Lights’ encounter

Birmingham & Solihull conclude their series of four pre-season warm up games with a visit to Stourton tomorrow night (Friday 24th August, KO 7.30pm) to play fellow National League 2 side Stourbridge.

With the Bees being level transferred into the southern division of NL2 for the forthcoming season, this will be the only time that they will come up against their near neighbours who will be plying their trade in the northern division in 2018/19.

The game will nonetheless provide the Bees’ coaching team with a good benchmark to assess the level of readiness for the start of the league campaign in September. The squad will also be looking to maintain the momentum gained from winning all three previous pre-season outings against Bournemouth, Earlsdon and – last weekend - Burton.

With Zane Raimondi picking up a knock in last week’s game, Dale Garner starts at hooker alongside Joe Foreman and Kurtis Payne in the front row, with Matt Spink and Andrew Weaver at locks. Danny Wright and Ash Scriven are at blind and open side respectively with Umraan Jadwat at No.8.

Skipper Jack Jolly and Harry O’Brien form the half back pairing, with Nathan Tilsley and Dan Kelly at inside and outside centre respectively. Matt Dight and George Bvuma get the nod again on the wings, with Ollie Walker at full back.

Replacements who are set to feature in the game include Alex Willis, Will Goodman, Kai Owen, Marcus Brown, Jevon Hinds, Harry Barnes, Tyler Price, Alex O’Malley, Alex Bartley, Luke Smith and some bloke called Stewart Pearl.
