Bees capture Coventry forward Danny Wright for next season

The Bees have announced that they have secured the services of Coventry Rugby forward Danny Wright for the 2016-17 season.

Standing at 6ft 5in and weighing in at 108kg, Wright has been at Coventry for the last four years, where he has been a standout player in National Division 1 – rugby’s third tier.

Previously with Gloucester Rugby and, indeed, Birmingham & Solihull during their second year in the Championship, the former England U20 made a total of 68 appearances for Coventry Rugby in National Division 1, scoring 7 tries in the process.

Commenting on the significant signing, Bees’ Head of Rugby Pete Glackin said, “Danny has been a leading player for Coventry Rugby in National 1 and he will bring many qualities and a vast amount of experience to the Bees. I have no doubt that he will be a pivotal member of our squad in the forthcoming season.”

Danny Wright is just one of a number of players already added to next season’s Bees squad by new Head of Rugby Pete Glackin.

These include the talented Coventry Rugby Academy captain and fly half Isaac McNulty and the equally promising Coventry University captain and hooker, Louis Addleton. Great srummaging prospect Freddie Clark, also a product of the Coventry Rugby Academy, has put pen to paper too.

The new squad members also join a host of current players who have already re-signed for next season’s National 3 Midlands campaign. These include skipper Chris Goddard, lock forward Matt Spink, flanker Darren Forder, props Dan Toth and Kurtis Payne, half backs Jack Jolly and Mitch McGahan and Vice Captain centre Steve Johns.
