Highest ever league position for a youthful Bees Colts side

The Bees Colts finished runners up in the North Midlands Colts League (which includes Staffordshire as well) reports Terry Dight

This is the highest that the Colts have been placed in the league – beating the previous best of a third placed spot.

The Bees Colts won 8 of their 11 games and finished runners up to league champions Bromsgrove with 39 points. The league feature sides including Hereford, Luctonians, Worcester, Wolverhampton and Walsall.

“This is a fantastic achievement considering that most of the team were U17s – many of the players were 16-year olds during the season, playing against U19 lads on many occasions. A number of the players also trained and played for the Hornet side during the season as well. It certainly bodes well for the Colts League next season”
