A victory over Old Albanian RFC, preferably with a bonus point, is a must for Bees in their efforts to climb the NL2 South Table

Bees will be looking to build on their strong performance at Henley Hawks, where they were extremely unfortunate to come away pointless from a game which they controlled for long periods.

This Saturday's opposition, Old Albanian RFC, currently sit in 7th place on 59 points. The men from Hertfordshire have won 11, drawn 1, and lost 13 of the 25 games they have played. Having beaten London Irish Wild Geese 56-0 on 8 December 2018, their form nosedived. They lost 7 games on the bounce, before securing a 34-34 draw at home to Worthing Raiders on 16 February. Last time out they beat Clifton 49-24, scoring 9 tries in the process!

OA have lost their last 7 games on the road. Their three away wins this season coming at Barnes, Worthing and Clifton.

Earlier in the season Old Albanian beat Bees 32-15, securing a try bonus point in the dying embers of a hard fought game.

Old Albanian RFC was founded in 1924, by old boys of St Albans' School.

In the 2009/10, OA finished second to Jersey in National League 3 London & SE. They won their play off game with Old Patesians 15-0, and were duly promoted to National League 2 South. Season 2011/12 saw OA win National League 2 South and gain promotion to National League 1, tier 3 rugby. In their first season in National League 1, they finished in 5th place. During 2014/15, an administrative error cost OA 5 points. Consequently, they filled the final relegation place instead of a relieved Cinderford. In 2015/16, OA finished second in National League 2 South. They beat Sedgley Park 24-0 in the play off, securing an immediate return to National League 1. In 2017/18, they finished 15th on 54 points, spelling a return to National League 2 South rugby.
