Bees determined to record their 4th successive home win of 2019 in their quest to climb the NL2 South Table

Following last Saturday's encounter at high flying Canterbury RFC, Bees return to Portway looking for their fourth consecutive home win of 2019, and also their third win of the season over Bristol based opposition.

Clifton RFC was founded, in the Kings Arms pub in Clifton, on 27 September 1872. It is the 22nd oldest club in England, and the oldest in Bristol. It has an illustrious history with some 38 internationals having appeared in lavender and black shirts, at some point during their playing careers. These include James Alfred Bevan, the first captain of Wales, and two England captains, Peter Young and Colin McFadyean. 2018/19, marks Clifton's 10th successive season as a level 4 club, no mean achievement. Last season they finished 11th on 63 points.

Clifton currently sit in 8th place on 52 points. They have won 9, and lost 13 of their opening 22 games. Over the last 10 games the men in lavender and black have won 5 and lost 5. Last time out they did Bees a favour by winning 30-26 at London Irish Wild Geese.

Bees put in a below par performance when losing 31-22 at Clifton on 13 October. The men in lavender and black playing nearly three quarters of the game with 14 men, after one of their props was red carded. Hopefully, Bees will set the record straight this weekend.

With regard to team news, there are three changes to the XV that started the game at Canterbury. Nick Bingham starts at tight-head, Ed Krawiecki will be wearing the No. 4 shirt, and Umraan Jadwat returns at No.8.
