Bees beaten finalists in Midlands Sevens

Placed secured in National Finals as a consolation

For the third week in succession, the Bees Rugby ventured onto the 7s circuit, this time at the RFU 24Sevens Midlands tournament at Worcester Warriors.

Drawn in a tough pool, the Bees nonetheless won all three games, dispatching the Fiji Knights, the Honey Badgers and West Bridgford to top the pool for the second week running.

Progressing to the semi-finals against a tough Little Monsters team, in a fiery affair the Bees notched up a fine win to book their place in the final on the main Sixways pitch. After a quick turn around and no rest, the final ended in a 3 tries to 1 loss against the Honey Badgers.
Despite the loss, the Bees secured qualification to the National 24Sevens event at Bath Rugby's Rec ground in July.
