Bees resume league campaign at Bournville after snow break

After last weekend’s snow-induced postponement against Sandbach, it is back to business for the Bees this Saturday (16th December, KO 3pm) as they make the short trip to the Birmingham University campus to play Bournville.

The Artificial Grass Pitch (AGP) used by Bournville is shared with the University American Football side, which is the reason for the later than normal kick off time. Irrespective of the start time, the Bees will be keen to end the 2017 calendar year with another win, which would further stretch their current season unbeaten run to 13 games.

The Bees will want to repeat the performance that they delivered against Bournville in the second game of the season, when they eased to a 54-8 victory at Portway. However, both the squad and the coaching team know that there is no room for complacency, as Bournville are both a capable side and ambitious club who will relish the chance to chalk up a win against the league leaders to move them up from tenth spot in the table.

Bournville themselves come into the game on the back of a 56-29 defeat against Peterborough Lions last Saturday.

Pete Glackin & Stewart Pearl have made only minor changes to the squad that defeated the Lions in their last outing a fortnight ago at Portway.

Jack Secher comes in at scrum half with Ben Phillips on the bench. Nathan Tilsley wears the captain's armband.
