The LEJOG team head out on Day 2 after a (relatively) uneventful first day in the saddle

With communications patchy in the far south west, news reached Communications HQ last night that the famous five had successfully completed Day 1 of their LEJOG4THEBOG challenge.

There was a minor incident just 9 miles out from Land’s End which required a visit to a local bike repair shop, but the first leg was eventually completed.

Corinthian athletes that they are, rehydration came in the form of a swim in the sea and a few pints of local brew, Betty’s Stogs. Overnight accommodation – five sharing a four bed YHA room – was less than palatial, we understand.

The mileage is upped today, with an 81 mile section from St Columb Major to Crediton.

As well as updates on the Bees’ website, you can also follow the progress on Dai’s FB page, and his blog lejog4thebog.blogspot.com
