Tag Rugby for Schools

This new tag rugby programme consists of 5 hours coaching time over 5 weeks from two of our very own Bees professional players.

The programme will conclude with a tag rugby festival bringing together all the participating schools, which will be held at the Bees training ground at the Portway training facility. During the festival, each school will be allocated a guest Bees player to help coach them throughout the tournament.

As a thank you, each participating school will receive a number of free child tickets to a Bees home fixture, as well as the chance to purchase discounted adult tickets.

Whilst at the home game, participants will have the chance to take part in our Match Day parade around the pitch before the game, as well as forming the “tunnel” from which the players will emerge onto the pitch.

Each Bees player that will be delivering the Bumble Bee tag programme is qualified up to current Premiership rugby standards, and holds a full current CRB form.

The 5 week coaching programme has been written and approved by some of the country’s top level coaches.

Due to the competition aspect of the festivals, the Bumble Bees Tag Programme is aimed at years 5 & 6.

During the 5 weeks, our coaches will help participants progress their skills using small sided games and various coaching techniques, all of which promote team play, enjoyment and sportsmanship, tag rugby is a fantastic game for both boys and girls to take part in together, (Unlike many other sports). The fast pace and non contact aspects of the game make it great fun and extremely enjoyable for the entire class.

Your school will also receive a binded Bumble Bees Tag Programme file for the schools future use that contains:
- Full explanations and breakdowns of each of the 5 coaching
sessions.
-Tips and techniques on how to teach tag rugby
- All the rules and how to referee a tag rugby game
- Contact details for the Bees should you need any help in the future

The availability of funding, especially for external sports programmes, is very limited at the moment. However, the Bumble Bees Tag Programme offers exceptional value for money.

To summarise, for joining the programme, you benefit from:-
- 5 professional 1hr coaching sessions from TWO of the Bees players
each week. (Valued @ £60 Each, £300 for the 5 weeks)
- FREE child tickets for the participating class and a limited amount of
free adult tickets for a Bees Championship fixture. (Valued @ £180.
30 child tickets @ £5, plus 2 adult tickets @ £15 each)
- The opportunity to purchase Additional adult tickets at a substantial
33% discount for the same fixture.
- Your place in one of our Bumble Bees Tag Rugby Festivals at the
Bees training ground, with the opportunity to go through to the
champion’s of champion’s festival at Damson Park before a Bees
fixture.
- The opportunity to enjoy our exciting pre match parade on the pitch
before a Bees fixture.
- The chance to also be part of the players tunnel from which the
teams will emerge.
- The school will receive a Bumble Bees Tag rugby pack for future use.

As you can see, the cost of the coaching sessions and the free tickets alone add up to £480. So at a cost of only £300 for each participating class, the Bumble Bee tag programme offers fantastic value for money and the chance to bring your teachers, pupils parent/guardians together through an exciting sports programme.
