Cornish Pirates 55 Pertemps Bees 14

Cornish Pirates 55 Pertemps Bees 14
Pertemps Bees found the Pirates in rampaging mood as they ended their National One away programme with another heavy defeat at the Camborne Recreation Ground.
The Bees hopes to gatecrash the Pirates' celebration party after the Cornishmen won the EDF Energy National Trophy at Twickenham last week. But they were blown away by a seven try blitz in the second half and once again had to content themselves with contributing to the entertainment in a free-flowing contest.
The match appeared to be in the balance when the Bees turned around only 14 points adrift. But forwards Mark Gabey and Dan Tuohy began the second half in the sin-bin and the Pirates made their extra man count.
Winger James Moore ran in a hat-trick of tries for the Pirates, former Saracens full-back Adryan Winnan got two and two penalty tries were awarded as the Bees struggled to staunch the flow of points.
There were two second half consolation tries for the Bees from Fijian flanker Akapusi Qera and winger Reece Spee with Rod Petty and Jon Higgins adding a conversion apiece.
But it made for a tough end of season trip for the Bees faithful who made the long trip south and was the second 50-points plus reverse on the road this season.

SPEE FIT FOR PIRATES TRIP (April 20 2007)
Pertemps Bees winger Reece Spee will return to action in the National League One game against Cornish Pirates at Camborne Recreation Ground on Sunday April 22.
Spee missed last week's heavy defeat at Newbury because of a knee injury but he passed a fitness test at training last night and replaces Adam Billig, who cannot travel because his wife is due to go into labour this weekend, in the starting XV.
Prop Matt Long has also been named in the side and will travel to Cornwall. But the England Counties international will require a late fitness test on a calf injury sustained at Newbury before the team is finalised.
The other change to the starting line-up is on the blindside flanker where Leo Halavatau has been recalled in a swap with Will Matthews.
Back-row forwards Tom Rawlins and Mark George have both been rested as they are due to play for Hartpury College in next Wednesday's BRitish Universities Sports Association final against UWIC (Cardiff Institute) at Twickenham.
Backs coach Ben Harvey has again been named as one of the replacements after he came off the bench to make his seasonal debut at Newbury.
"Ben has got a sore back but he will definitely be on the bench this weekend," said Steve Williams, Pertemps Bees' head coach.
"It sums up our current injury situation that even the coaches are injured!"
