FORMER WALES COACH LEWIS JOINS PERTEMPS BEES (5 March 2008)
Allan LewisFormer Wales National coach Allan Lewis has been appointed Director of Rugby for the Birmingham and Solihull Rugby Club, the Pertemps Bees. He takes up his new post in May(?)
Allan’s previous experiences includes spells as Assistant coach, three-quarters coach and national selector for Wales, Director of Rugby at Bridgend, Newport and Moseley and latterly Director of Rugby at Hartpury College, part of the University of the West of England.
Brian Marshall, chairman of Birmingham & Solihull, said, “We are delighted to have appointed Allan, his depth of experience at all levels will have a huge impact on our club. Not only is he a renowned coach, he also has a strong affinity with the role a club like ours should play in the community and these strengths will underpin our progress as we prepare for our move from Sharman’s Cross Road to our proposed new Sports Partnership at Damson Parkway.”
Russell Earnshaw, Head coach of Pertemps Bees, said “I couldn’t think of a person more suited to the post. Allan is very well respected in Rugby at all levels and has the experience and proven ability to take us forward.”
Allan Lewis said:”The prospect of guiding one of England’s senior clubs to fulfil its potential is too good an opportunity to refuse. I'm excited by the prospect of developing and growing the club over the next few seasons to make them a role model both on and off the field. Although things have not been easy for them this season, this is a progressive club and I'm pleased to be part of their planning for the future.
“We’ve made excellent progress at Hartpury, I’ve really enjoyed my time here and will be sorry to leave - but there is always a challenge with every new position and this is one I’m looking forward to.”

We're still looking for more people to help with all of the activity we have to undertake on matchdays, too."
