PERTEMPS BEES SIGN QUARTET (June 27 2007)
Pertemps Bees have continued their close season recruitment campaign by adding four more new players to their first team squad.
Gareth McComb, a lock or flanker, has arrived from National One rivals Rotherham, former Wales Under-21 prop Phil Osborne from Newport, back-row forward Andrew Daish from London Welsh and centre Ashley Maggs from the Bristol Academy.
McComb, whose previous clubs included Loughborough University and Belfast Harlequins, has spent the last two seasons with Rotherham but has now relocated to Malvern because of work commitments and has added to the depth of Pertemps Bees squad.
Osborne, 21, has also won representative honours for Wales at Under 16 and Under-19 levels. He played for Cardiff and Cardiff Institute before he joined Newport two years ago and became a regular in their Welsh Premiership side. Osborne was recommended to Pertemps Bees by former head coach Steve Williams before he was appointed Ulster's new assistant coach two weeks ago.
Maggs, 21, is a former England Under-18 international a product of Colstons School in Bristol. He previously played for Northampton's Academy and made one senior appearance for Bristol last season as a replacement in the EDF Energy Cup.
Daish, a former Wales Under-18 international, is a graduate of London South Bank University who had England Students trials while he was with London Welsh.
McComb, Osborne, Maggs and Daish follow winger James Aston and scrum-half Paul Knight (Moseley), lock Dave Campton and props Alun Wyn Davies Pete Bucknall (Coventry), fly-half Michael Hook (Redruth), full-back Matt Williams (Stourbridge), full-back or centre Peter Murchie (Waterloo), centre Mike Mangeolles, on loan from Bristol, and former Doncaster flanker Russell Earnshaw, Pertemps Bees' new player/forwards' coach, as new recruits at Sharmans Cross Road.
