HOOK AGREES TERMS WITH PERTEMPS BEES (May 27
2007)
Pertemps
Bees are set to complete the signing of fly-half Mike Hook, the elder brother
of Wales fly-half James.
Hook has agreed personal terms with Pertemps Bees and his move from National
Two club Redruth is expected to be completed this week once his signed contract
has been received at Sharmans Cross Road.
The 24-year-old, who can also play at full-back, won international honours with
Wales Under-21s and had a spell with Newport before injury stalled his career.
But he made a successful comeback with Redruth this season, broke Rob Thirlby's
points record for the Cornish club and is now looking to step up a level.
"I know Mike from back home," said Pertemps Bees' coach Steve Williams,
a former Wales lock. "He comes from the same town as me and I've followed
his career with interest.
"He's had a few injury problems but he's a talented player and he wants
to give it a go in National One."
