Pertemps Bees have confirmed the release of six members of their current first
team squad.
Scrum-half Mike Baxter, back-row forwards Tom Rawlins and Dean Miller, lock Mark
George and props Brendan Lynch and Emyr Lewis have been told that they will not
be offered contracts for next season.
"It's a difficult time of year saying goodbye to some players but I would
like to put on record my thanks to Mike, Tom, Dean, Mark, Brendan and Emyr,"
said Steve Williams, the Bees' head coach.
"They have all done a good job for us this year although we might not have
been able to give as much game time as some of them would have liked.
"I would like to thank them for their whole-hearted efforts and wish them
well for the future."
Baxter has already re-joined Bath and Rawlins is set to sign for National One
newcomers Launceston. George has expressed an interest in converting to prop and
he is expected to spend next season playing in that position for Hartpury College
where his progress will be monitored by Williams.
In addition Pertemps Bees have confirmed that former Gloucester lock Mark Cornwell,
their captain this season, will not be returning.
Tom Court, who has spent two months on loan from Ulster, will be rejoining the
Magners League club and flanker Dan Tuohy has signed a full contract with Gloucester.
Fiji flanker Akapusi Qera has also signed a one-year contract with Gloucester,
centre Simon Martin has joined Taunton as player/coach and full-back Matt Nuthall
and centre Tristan Davies have opted to join clubs closer their homes in Wales
and signed for Neath and Cardiff respectively.
