WILLIAMS SIGNS TWO MORE (April 23 2007)
Pertemps Bees head coach has continued to strengthen his team for next season by signing former Ireland Under-21 full-back Matt Williams from National Two club Stourbridge and Moseley winger James Aston.
They take Williams' number of new signings for next season to four following Coventry lock Dave Campton and scrum-half Paul Knight who is returning to Sharmans Cross Road after a season with Moseley.
Williams, a former student at Hartpury College, had spells with Gloucester's Academy and Bristol where he played for England Under-18s and Under-19s before switching to Ireland at Under-21 level.
"We were looking for a full-back because Matt Nuthall has got himself a good contract with Neath, and Matt was recommended to us by some of the players we know well at Stourbridge," said Steve Williams.
"He's done well for Stourbridge this season, he's very quick and it's a chance for him to step up a division."
Aston, a former Birmingham University student, made his debut for Moseley in the autumn of 2002 and has won international honours with England Counties during his time with them.
"James impressed when we trained with Moseley last month and we think he is someone that we can develop," Williams said.
"He's a strong and powerful runner, all the attributes for a good winger and something that we can build on."
In addition to his four new signings, Williams has re-signed 14 members of the existing Pertemps Bees squad.
