BEES DELAY MILES DECISION (April 11 2007)
Pertemps Bees have given hooker Matt Miles a further 48 hours to recover from
an ankle injury before they finalise their side for the rearranged National League
One game against Newbury at Monks Lane on Saturday April 14 (3pm).
The former Northampton player took a bang to an ankle during last Saturday's draw
at Coventry and was unable to train last night.
Miles' fitness will be assessed again at training on Thursday and a final decision
on whether he will be fit to face Newbury might be left until Friday.
"The injury is improving with rest, it's just a case of whether it will have
improved enough for him to play at Newbury," said Pertemps Bees head coach
Steve Williams.
"We will have another look at the ankle on Thursday and we might even wait
until Friday to give Matt the extra day to recover."
Miles has joined his fellow hooker Stewart Pearl, who has been ruled out for the
rest of the season by a broken hand, on the injury list. Canadian international
prop Casey Dunning is likely to play at hooker against Newbury if Miles does not
recover in time. Emyr Lewis, another prop, is the likely replacement hooker.
