PEARL
OUT FOR SEASON (April 5 2007)
Pertemps
Bees hooker Stewart Pearl will miss the remainder of the season because of a broken
hand.
The former Worcester and Plymouth Albion player has not played since he sustained
the injury at Rotherham in late January but his hopes of making a comeback before
the end of the season have now been dashed.
Pearl required metal plates and pins to be inserted in his hand to repair a complicated
fracture. He will have the plates and pins removed at the end of the season in
the hope that he will be fit for the start of next season.
Props Emyr Lewis and Casey Dunning will continue to provide cover for Matt Miles
at hooker until the end of the season.
There is better news of centres Tristan Davies and Dave Knight who are both set
to return to action in the National League One game against Coventry at the Butts
Park Arena on Saturday April 7 (2.30pm).
Davies has recovered from a hamstring injury and is expected to partner Simon
Martin. Knight, who suffered a similar injury in the warm-up before the EDF Energy
National Trophy semi-final defeat at Exeter two weeks ago, missed training on
Tuesday after his wife gave birth. He is expected to be named as a replacement
at Coventry.
Pertemps Bees will give fitness checks to back-row forwards Dan Tuohy and Matt
Larsen before they finalise their side to play Coventry. Wales Under-20 international
Larsen suffered a dead leg in last weekend's win over Otley. Tuohy made his first
start against Otley after two months out with a knee cartilage injury.
