MORGAN TO ATTEND FESTIVAL (March 14 2007)
Olly MorganEngland full-back Olly Morgan will be at Birmingham & Solihull's Mini and Mini Rugby Festival at Portway on Sunday March 18.
Morgan, currently sidelined by injury, will attend the event along with his Gloucester team-mate Mark Foster, to help present the prizes at the end of a busy day of rugby action. Winger Foster is already familar with the club having played National One rugby for Pertemps Bees on loan from Gloucester two years ago.
The presentation ceremony will be at 3.30pm but the action starts at 11am with matches in age groups between Under-7s and Under-15s. More than 500 youngsters will be involved in the Festival with 36 teams from clubs across the Midlands taking part in the festival.
Nottingham, Lichfield, Stratford, Silhillians, Kidderminster Carolians are among the guest teams who will be taking part alongside Birmingham & Solihull.Olly gets dumped
Land Rover are delighted to be the title sponsors of this year’s event, the Land Rover Birmingham & Solihull Mini Rugby Festival . Representatives of Stratstone Land Rover in Solihull will be at the festival showcasing their range of vehicles, including the seven seater Discovery 3, whilst offering all supporters the chance to win some superb prizes.
As the official vehicle of Premier Rugby and England Rugby, Land Rover will be giving parents the unique chance to win a coaching clinic from their main rugby ambassador, Josh Lewsey. Their child’s team will be coached by the British Lions and England star at a location of their choice as he passes on the skills that he has acquired from some of the finest coaches in the world. To add to this fantastic prize the whole team will receive an exclusive set of Land Rover rugby kit to wear on the day.
Also on offer at the festival will be a signed 2006-07 Gloucester Rugby shirt and the chance to go off-roading at a local Land Rover Experience Centre. All supporters need to do is head for the Land Rover display or approach one of the Land Rover staff around the ground and complete one of the forms. The lucky winners will be selected at random and contacted the following day.
The Birmingham & Solihull Mini Rugby Festival is one of several festivals around the country that Land Rover will be supporting this season. As part of Land Rover’s continued sponsorship within rugby, all twelve Guinness Premiership clubs receive a Discovery 3 to support their work in the community. Grassroots rugby remains a particular focus for Land Rover as it strives to not only to support the top echelons of the sport, but also provide funds to support its future development. The Premiership Rugby Academy is a major new initiative supported by Land Rover where kids are coached at camps by top coaches from the Guinness Premiership clubs.
