HENDERSON
FLIES HOME (March 1 2007)
Pertemps Bees have suffered a setback ahead of their EDF Energy National Trophy
quarter-final against Newbury at Monks Lane on Saturday March 3 with the news
that Canadian international Brodie Henderson has been forced to return home.
Henderson's grandmother has been taken ill and it is not expected that he will
be able to return to Birmingham before the end of the season.
Henderson, who was in Canada's squad for the autumn internationals earlier in
the season, scored a try in last week's National league One victory over Waterloo.
His place against Newbury is likely to be taken by Kyle Palm.
Pertemps Bees are expected to give a debut to Ireland A prop Tom Court, who joined
the club on loan from Ulster last weekend.
Court, an Irish-qualified Australian, reported for training on Tuesday evening
and is likely to replace Emyr Lewis in the front row.
Pertemps Bees expect former Gloucester lock Mark Cornwell to be fit to lead the
side at Newbury after he missed the Waterloo game because of illness.
Cornwell made his debut for the Barbarians against the Combined Services at Newbury
in November and marked the occasion by scoring a try. He has also been named in
the Barbarians team to play the East Midlands in the 80th Mobbs Memorial Match
at Bedford on March 14.
