SET TO FACE NEWBURY (February 26 2007)
Ireland A prop Tom Court is set to make his debut for Pertemps Bees in their EDF
Energy National Trophy quarter-final against Newbury at Minks Lane on Saturday
March 3.
Court, an Irish-qualified Australian, has joined Pertemps Bees on loan from Magners
League side Ulster for the rest of the season and is likely to be included in
the starting XV at Newbury.
Court, who has played New Zealand provincial rugby for Manawatu and for Queensland
Reds in the Super 14 competition, is eligible for the National Trophy and is expected
to form a new front-row partership with Matt Long.
Emyr Lewis, who played at tighthead prop in last Saturday's National One win over
Waterloo, is likely to drop to the bench at Newbury to provide cover for hooker
Matt Miles. Rob Elloway, who was replacement hooker against Waterloo, is ineligible
for the National Trophy as he became cup-tied when he made an appearance for Gloucester
in the EDF Energy Cup earlier in the season.
Pertemps Bees will await a fitness update on lock and captain Mark Cornwell before
they finalise their side for the trip to Newbury.
The former Gloucester stalwart was forced to withdraw from the side against Waterloo
because of illness which confined him to bed over the weekend.
