FACES LONG LAY OFF (January 22 2007)

Bees are awaiting a scan on Dan Tuohy's knee injury to discover how long the promising
back-row forward will be out of action.
Tuohy sustained the injury midway through the first half of the EDF Energy National
Trophy fourth round victory over Launceston last Saturday and the initial prognosis
is not good.
"The way it has been presented by our medical staff is not good," said
Steve Williams, Pertemps Bees' head coach.
"It looks like an anterior cruciate ligament injury which could rule Dan
out for the season. He is due to see a specialist later today to have the knee
scanned and we will get a better indication of excatly how long he will be out
of action once we have the results."
In the short-term Tuohy will miss the National league One game against promotion-chasing
Rotherham Earth Titans at Clifton Lane on Saturday January 27.
Full-back Jon Goodridge, who was cup-tied for the Launceston game having played
for Gloucester in the EDF Energy Cup earlier in the season, will be available
this week which should ease some of Pertemps Bees' selection difficulties.
But it is not yet known whether prop Neil Fowkes will be allowed to resume his
loan spell from Nottingham. Fowkes, who joined Pertemps Bees on loan four weeks
ago, was recalled by Nottingham for their National Trophy game at Sedgley Park
on Saturday.
Nottingham have yet to decide whether Fowkes will remain with them for the rest
of the season or be allowed to rejoin Pertemps Bees on loan.
